ALBUM INFO

During many months of 2011 and 2012 Deville have been stuck in the studio most of the time except for some European festivals and random shows. After two full length albums and a couple of hundred shows all around Europe the new record is a product of that. Trying to take this experience of what the band does best and what works live this new record is more wide than previous releases… This brand new recording will see the light of day in 2013 via the band’s new home here at Small Stone.

In 2009, after more than 100 gigs all over Europe since the debut album release it was time for the album “Hail the Black Sky”. Recorded during the early months in 2009 in Malmoe, Sweden by Markus Nilsson and produced by Deville. The band has taken a step to a more straight forward songwriting and this album has more of an album feeling than the last one recording the songs during the same period of time. It follows the pattern of significant Deville grooves and 70`s driven riffing of the darker school. Eleven tracks of rock in the veins of Black Sabbath. Kyuss and Soundgarden it takes you to the next level of 70´s rock for the 21st century. This album proves the bands progress to their own sound in the genre of heavy rock and beyond and will definitely take the listeners for a ride..

The swedish rockband Deville released their full lenght debut “Come Heavy Sleep” in December 2007 on Buzzville Records with great reviews. Two European tours took place in Jan-Feb and Nov-Dec 2008 that went through seven countries. Heaviness and grooves dominates “Come Heavy Sleep” that stretches from stoner rock to doom riffs. In 2005 Deville released a record on Daredevil Records, a split record (double feature cd/ lp). It was also released in Europe and in the US . The band have existed around six years and have done over 200 gigs and festivals in Sweden, Denmark,Norway,Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain and the U.K the past five years with bands like Sepultura, Fu Manchu, Mustasch(S) and Brant Bjork.

DEVILLE… New Video… New Tour!

Some words have been pinched from The Obelsik… Thanks JJ.

Swedish heavy rockers Deville have a new video for the song “The Knife.” The track comes from the Malmö four-piece’s 2013 full-length, Hydra (review here), which was also their first release on Small Stone Records. As timing would have it, Deville head out on a European tour this week, having finalized the dates at the start of April, and “The Knife” makes a solid argument for showing up to see them if you happen to be in that part of the world. One doubts they’ll be playing on top of a giant guitar or that there will be huge spinning blades — probably for the best — but as Deville stand in a fine tradition of their country’s heavy rock without bowing to the retro pressures of the current scene, they only make themselves more individualized for their efforts.

Between that conceptual appeal and the actual fruit of Deville‘s songwriting, it doesn’t seem like a way to lose out. “The Knife” was among the most memorable cuts on Hydra, so whether you caught wind of the album or not last year, it’ll be worth either the refresher or the initial exposure to check it out. Album Info

Lisbon’s premier heavy rockers Miss Lava are back with ‘Doom Machine’, the perfect soundtrack for your post-lockdown world. The band’s fourth album will launch through Small Stone Records early in 2021.

“This album reflects on how each one of us can breed and unleash our own self-destructive force, assembled to be part of a giant Doom Machine,” states singer and lyricist Johnny Lee.

It is the band’s densest sonic output, emotionally reeling from the tragic death of guitarist K. Raffah’s baby son and from all the other members’ children born during the creative process.

“‘Doom Machine’ is a very emotional experience for us… [my son] was only here for a month and a half, but his light was very bright. When we listen to the record, it’s impossible not to hear my son’s energy on many moments. We feel his presence every time,” shares K. Raffah.

Sonically, ‘Doom Machine’ ranges from riff-raff extravaganza to psychedelic and eerie swirls amid hypnotic interludes. All instrumental parts were recorded live to capture a fresh energy.

‘Doom Machine’ is the successor to ‘Dominant Rush EP’ (2017), ‘Sonic Debris’ (2016), ‘Red Supergiant’ (2013), and ‘Blues for the Dangerous Miles’ (2009) – named by Loud Magazine as one of the top 5 Portuguese albums of the year – as well as a limited edition self-titled blood red vinyl EP (2008).

Over the years, the band has played live in UK, on Spanish and German tours, and had slots on different European festivals. Miss Lava even made a one-off appearance at the legendary Whisky a Go-Go in Los Angeles. The band has shared the stage with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Slash, Graveyard, Ufommammut, Greenleaf, Kyuss Lives!, Fu Manchu, Valient Thorr, Entombed, Truckfighters and many more.

With ‘Doom Machine’, Miss Lava expect to launch a series of singles and videos to promote the album and announce European touring throughout 2021.

For fans of: Dozer, Deville, Greenleaf, etc.

THEM BULLS

Having already shared stages with labelmates in Abrahma and Lo-Pan, as well as Turbonegro, Nick Oliveri and many others, Italian heavy rockers Them Bulls will release their debut full length, Them Bulls, on Small Stone Records later this Summer.

In just over two years since forming early in 2014, Them Bulls have refined their approach to their unique desert-style fuzz of their initial EP called Space Cadillacs, and have now brought their game to a new level entirely. Executed with melodic precision but a loose feel, the songs like “Pot Gun” and “Bandana, Carlos” nod at the poppy bounce of peak-era Queens of the Stone Age, while “Too Much Hot” offers an attitude all the band’s own and “We Must Live Up” drives the point home with rare emphasis for a band who are still so relatively new.

Marking the debut with the band of second guitarist/backing vocalist Francesco Maria Pasi alongside founding vocalist/ guitarist Daniele Pollio, drummer Giampaolo Farnedi (Mondo Generator, Brant Bjork and the Bros.) and bassist Paolo Baldini, Them Bulls was recorded and mixed by Mattia Dallara at Deposito Zero Studio in
April and mastered by Mathias Schneeberger. Them Bulls will be hitting many a stage in support of this release.

For fans of: Deville, Queens Of The Stone Age, Lo-Pan, and many more.
